Getting There

Travel to Venice

We recommend arriving in Venice by Thursday, October 8, so you have time to settle in before the celebrations begin.

01

Recommended

Venice Marco Polo Airport

VCE

Venice Marco Polo Airport is the closest and most convenient airport for the wedding weekend.

Hotel Transfer

For the easiest arrival, ask your hotel to arrange a representative, luggage assistance and a private boat directly to the hotel or nearest dock.

Private Water Taxi

After collecting your luggage, follow signs for Water Transport. The covered walk to the water terminal takes approximately 15–20 minutes with luggage; reserve your boat in advance.

Alilaguna

The shared airport boat is the most economical option and serves several central Venice stops. Travel time varies by route.

02

Alternative

Milan Malpensa Airport

MXP

Choose Malpensa only if its flight schedule or pricing is materially better; allow approximately 3.5–4 additional hours to reach your Venice hotel.

By Train

Take the Malpensa Express to Milano Centrale, then a direct high-speed train to Venezia Santa Lucia. Allow 3.5–4 hours in total and arrange a water taxi from the station.

By Private Car Transfer

Ask your Milan hotel to arrange a private transfer, or reserve a city-to-city ride with Blacklane. Travel to Piazzale Roma in approximately 3–3.5 hours, then continue by water taxi to your hotel.

By Rail

Arriving in Venice by Train

Book to Venezia Santa Lucia, not Venezia Mestre, to arrive directly on the Grand Canal. Arrange a water taxi in advance when traveling with luggage.

Going Home

Departing Venice

Ask your hotel to arrange your airport or station transfer at least 24 hours before departure. They will confirm the pickup time and closest accessible dock.

Where to Stay

The Hotel Collection

Our preferred four- and five-star hotels across central Venice and select lagoon islands.

A considered approach

Venice’s smaller hotels have limited inventory and changing rates. The stars shown below are official hotel categories, not guest-review scores.

Before booking, email our Guest Experience Team with your preferred hotel, travel dates and number of rooms. They will confirm availability, seek preferred wedding rates and coordinate booking directly with the hotel.

Initial room allocations begin to release on August 24, so we recommend getting in touch soon.
